NAPADS FYB in retrospect

 Final Year Book (FYB)/

Final Year Brethren

Joy filled the atmosphere as the final year students of Public Administration held their FYB week.

Finalist week is such a week where the final year students on campus engage in one social activity or the other. This is a week that is always declared lecture-free week for finalists to socialize, merry and entertain themselves after a long semester, spent on night readings, daily classes, assignments, projects and research works.

The events were awesome from Day 1 to Day 5 and all thanks to God.

Moreover, Day 1, which is on Monday 9th of May, 2022 is classified as #Corporate wear# day, in which all finalists were in corporate wear and official dress.

Tuesday is tagged #Back to school#, students dressed in their secondary school days attire, guys putting on white shirts and shorts with socks, and ladies putting on their pretty skirts, shirt and long socks.

Wednesday is called #Jersey day# where each finalist reps their club by putting on their club jersey for the celebration of the finalist week.

Thursday is tagged #Denim/Denim jeans# on this day the finalist were happy taking pictures for a wonderful memory.

Friday – the final day for the week activity which is tagged #cultural /Ankara day# Female finalists put on the same best native (Ankara)outfit while the male finalist students both HND2 and ND2 were on Senator material outfits.

This year's FYB was a very interesting and memorable one as our amiable HOD, Dr Risikat Abimbola Akinseye graced the event on Friday with the native attire.

To complement this was the stage for  DJ and Hypeman to entertain the students.

NAPADSPress correspondent had an interview session with the NAPADS Social Director, Comrade Abdulahi Oluwadamilola Ayodeji concerning the impact of Finalist Week on students,

Com. Abdulahi Oluwadamilola said it is of great impact on the students because it is an avenue for the final year students to socialize, merry and entertain themselves after a long semester, spent on night reading.

NAPADSPress correspondent asked: As the social director, how were you able to maintain unity, and orderliness among students irrespective of their level or position?

She responded that The orderliness and cooperation that was among the students in various levels; ND and HND to be precise made things easy for me and most importantly I can say with God everything went successful and smoothly.

NAPADSPress correspondent: can you tell us some of the strategies you used to ensure this orderliness with your committee?

"The most important a leader can use to ensure orderliness is being patient and being able to endure a lot, I can say endurance from the people in my committee was a big strategy I used throughout the week And more so I gave listening ears to all their opinions",  was her response.

NAPADSPRESS Council: How were you able to motivate students to participate during the week despite the economic situation, where students are not financial buoyant?

Com. Abdulahi Oluwadamilola said, "honestly I tried my possible best in making sure no finalist is segregated even at the other levels. As a social director, I make sure I had personal relationships with if not all more than 80% of the students and in the process I try to convince them that being a finalist is a thing to be grateful for and worth celebrating. So with that, they see reasons to participate in our fun week. all thanks to God and my committee".

NAPADSPress Council: what legacy are you leaving behind as a finalist, when we talk about unity for the next generation?

She said, One of the legacies I am leaving behind is to pass along the values already set aside in our department and make sure even in my absence there should still be co-operation among all levels.

NAPADSPress council: Lastly describe the finalist week in 3 words?

She said, It was peaceful, fun and was a success.
