By: Sulaimon Taiwo

The Head of Department (HOD) of Public Administration, Dr. O.O. Oyewo, held an examination briefing which took place at pad hall at exactly 12:40pm today Thursday Feb 27 2025 together with Mr Y.B Wahab and Mrs  Oke Olayinka ahead of the upcoming exams. The briefing aimed to provide clear and detailed information about the context, objectives, procedures, and evaluation criteria of the examination for both stale and fresh students.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to the department's dress code, stating that students must wear the official department attire, white and black, to the exam hall. "Any student who appears in different attire may not be allowed to write the exams," he warned.

The HOD encouraged students to prepare well for the exams, saying, "As you lay your bed, you lie on it, and hard work is an antidote to oppression. Students must prepare well to see themselves in flying colors." He emphasized that the department is not training students to be slaves, but rather to stand up for their rights.

He  also reminded students that lecturers are human beings who can make mistakes. "Students should not hesitate to communicate their concerns to me or their lecturers," he said. "Lecturers exist because of students, and if there were no students, there would be no lecturers."

The HOD stressed the importance of dressing professionally, stating that students who wear slippers or inappropriate attire to the exam hall will not be overlooked. He also warned that any student caught engaging in examination malpractice will be required to fill out a form, which will be taken to the school's Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC).

He  advised students to be time conscious during the examination period, stating that students must arrive at the exam venue at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. "Any student who arrives 30 minutes after the exam has started will not be allowed to sit for the exam," he warned.

Regarding security, he assured students that the department is working to ensure their protection and well-being. "Any student found wandering around the exam hall during the examination will be arrested and taken to the appropriate authorities," he said.

Finally, Dr. Oyewo addressed changes to the examination timetable, stating that any changes will be communicated to the class representatives of each level. He confirmed changes to the time table  schedule for several courses, including the ND 2 seminar in Public Administration has been scheduled to hold on the same day in the afternoon.
