Why you need to be Oriented as a Student

It's obvious and bad, that many students on campus are putting a lackadaisical attitude towards what is necessary to them as a student. Schooling transcends the realm of class attendance and examination. Registration is another main obligation which e

very student need to take to heart. A student is expected to adhere strictly to registration deadline, to avoid any problem. School management should as well ensure every necessary information guides are included in a handbook, which should be discussed in the physical orientation programme.


However, we have many students who drop money and their details for cyber cafe business men, to make payment on behalf of the students, registering courses for the students in his/ her abscence. Students are now nonchalant about checking their students' handbook for guides. They take registration process as something they can do anytime they feel like. Prior to the beginning of classe3s, students are given an overview of the complete realm of tertiary institution life, from academics to social activities, through a period of days referred to as orientation. programs begin before classes start; therefore students usually will need to be on registration before classes during orientation.



This is because new students need some direction and guidance in enrolling for classes, faculty, even department should have an opportunity to provide academic advisory role at orientation. Orientation program shouldn't be full of fun and entertainment alone, but include the exposure of new students to the new school environment they find themselves. Therefore, programs should be implemented to orient them into the academic community as well. Orientation program serve as the foundational success of an institution. It showcase a lasting impression for the new students. Example are that of the SUG, Students Affairs, Departmental and Faculty Orientation programs.


Student is a major source of their problem; imagine a student who doesn't care about having his protal log in information? He doesn't check his school portal himself whether his school fees has been paid truly, also the appropriate courses have been registered. You need to monitor your school Portal, ckecking the portal on daily basis to check update, as a student. Also, you have to consult necessary office for informations, at the department, faculty and students affairs department.


Administration of a school also determine the success of the students in school. This is because, all necessary information and guides should be provided to the students. Whereas, the school management is expected to organize a meaningful Orientation programme for thier new students. Orientation is designed to answer questions before they are asked and to provide solutions before problems occur. By planning appropriately and using all campus resources, orientation should relieve anxieties and prepare the new students

PROJECT SUPERVISION ALLOCATION FOR HND 2 STUDENTS

By:NAPADS Press The Head of Department, Dr. O.O. Oyewo, addressed the HND 2 students on project supervision on November 26, 2024 at PAD hall . He assured the students that the list of allocated supervisors would be made available before the end of the week. Dr. Oyewo emphasized the importance of individual effort in project completion, stating that it is an opportunity for students to develop their critical thinking skills and build their confidence. He also announced that a project seminar would be organized to orient students on the basic rules and procedures for successful project writing and defense. The Head of Department strictly advised students with pending issues to resolve them promptly to avoid delays in project allocation. He warned that late completion of projects would result in an additional year of project writing.
