NAPADS Transition; Comrade Bamigbade Ibukun and 15 others Wins 2020/2021 Election.

The NAPADS Electoral Committee (NEC) organized the 2020/2021 election into the offices of the National Association of Public Administration Students', The Polytechnic, Ibadan (NAPADS) executive arm on Friday 11th June, 2021.
The election which was earlier slated to start by 8:00am started few minutes to ten (10:00am), the political exercise took place right in front of PAD Hall.
Prior to the main day of the election, the NAPADS PRESS organised a wonderful Manifesto held a day before the election day (10th June, 2021 ) at The department’s PAD Hall. Mr Akeem Ganiyu and Mr Y.B Wahab were the lecturers that graced the program
The manifesto which started at exactly 12:00 pm with the National Anthem, followed by introduction of aspirants to a reserved seat as well as the recognition of NAPADS stakeholders to the high table.
The presence of all the aspirants across all levels (full time and DPP) excluding the part-time students who are on strike, they all came out with confidence as they give to the audience their aim and intentions towards their aspiration as NAPADS executives.

The manifesto went well as organised by the NAPADS editorial board in preparation for the forthcoming election which will decide the next face of the NAPADS executive.
The ELECTION Day.
The franchise activity is however scheduled to hold on Friday 11th of June, 2021.
To fashion out the new face of NAPADS executive; NEC organized the 2020/2021 election.
Sequel to the commencement of voting exercises, Mr O.O Oyewo, a lecturer from the department came around when he was told the election is about to start.
The NAPADS Press correspondences met with the General secretary of NAPADS Electoral Committee (NEC), Raheem Naheem. He revealed that Mr. Oyewo came to implore them to be very fair in the electioneering process, and that they should make sure they portray the trust the department has in them to have a just, free and fair election.
Another lecturer, Mr. Yussuf Wahab also came around to stay with the NEC and ordered for the commencement of the election immediately.
NAPADS stakeholders were also present to observe and control the polling booth. Comrade Albert ensures that all poster that are meant for aspirants campaigns are evacuated from the walls behind the polling booth. TheNEC Chairman showed the entire members of NAPADS to see that the ballot box is empty before the commencement of voting exercise.
However, agents of all aspirants were allowed to vote first so as to over see every other voters and ensuring that the electoral committee don’t go against their candidates. Afterwards, all the 22 aspirants were allowed to vote next before any other members of the association. On a well aligned queue , as arranged by the stakeholders and the NEC acting protocol officer, eligible students duly vote with their NAPADS receipt and some with NAPADS ID card. The voting exercise lasted for almost three (3) hours, and the institution’s security men (maintenance) were present all through.
The exercise was stopped by NEC at exactly 12:45 pm. On the arrival of Barr. O.J. Diekola and Mr Ganiyu A. A, the counting and announcement of the votes was done respectively. It was ensured that all agents of each candidate were all present for the counting. This is done so that no candidate will feel cheated and it will not be as if wrong candidates were imposed on the students of Public Administration.
In the same vein, the counting resulted to some figures for each candidates. Though, the actual total numbers of ballot paper (324) was made known to all agents, before reshuffling the figures of vote each candidates were able to secure and that of the winners were duly announced to the students by Mr Ganiyu as thus:

Obviously, all candidate’s agents actually testified and attested the fact that it was a free and fair election. Mr Ganiyu then congratulated the new face of NAPADS executives and thank all for the support in the transitioning process.
