By: NAPADSPress

Meet the NAPADS Press Council’s Student Entrepreneur of the Week.

Prince Oyebamiji Oluwaloseyifunmi popularly known as ‘’ PrinceFinger He was born in Ibadan On the 25th of November in the late 90s. He is currently an HND2 student of the Public Administration Department, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

Princefingers is from  Gbongan in Osun State, He is an outstanding chef, during the process of our interactions with him the following was discovered:

NAPADS Press: when did you start your catering work and can you tell us what prompted you to do it?

PrinceFinger:  I started in 2018 and initially I never thought of it as a profession because I actually started my ambitions by thinking of becoming a presenter but later I began to grow fond of it and I notice that cooking is

the only thing I can do for many days without relaxing and I still won’t get tired then I remember a quote that says “keep doing what makes you happy” then I decided to make it a hobby and probably becoming a great chef is all I have in my head as my goal right now.

NAPADS Press: It’s quite known that challenges are inevitable in all businesses, Can you tell us the obstacles you faced when the business kicked off?

PrinceFinger: Living has never been an easy task the same as working,  at first before becoming a little bit expert you face the challenges of some certain customers complaining about the outcome of a particular meal that other people enjoyed, getting to work early and closing late, some times, not going home for a month because you have to satisfy customers’ needs and be available for them, sleepless nights and the rest.

NAPADS Press: What is the driving force?

PrinceFinger: Thought about giving up is natural when the pressure is too much and you still know it takes a long way to become a boss, some certain customer, the boss, the fatigue and the rest, these might make someone want to give up, I have felt the same before and it’s gonna continue but am still trying to hold myself firm to achieve the stipulated goal.

NAPADSPress: Sir How do you promote your business among friends, colleagues and peers?

PrinceFinger: It ain’t that easy but running discounts on meals help a lot and hosting hangout also help in boosting the business,

I believe in what I do so having a taste of it at first probably will prior the person to giving me a large contract👌👌👌

NAPADSPress: We all know it is not that easy to be running two things at the same time but, how possible is it to combine business with school?

PrinceFinger: To be honest this is not easy especially when you are a student of the Great polytechnic Ibadan and at the same time you have to make ends meet yourself, take care of school bills and those at home,

should I start with rushing out of the lecture class when the class has not ended just because a customer needed food or working through 24hrs and coming to class straight from work to end up falling asleep during class

or we talk about taking energy drinks every day so as not to fall asleep in class or get tired at work till friends start saying the company should make me a brand ambassador and doctor saying I should reduce it that it’s affecting my health,

The feeling that you wanna be the top student in the class and at the same time you must work to survive and pay bills,

the feeling when you bring the book into the kitchen and you start reading just because you have a test the next morning,

this is interesting but swears I can’t say it all.  I can’t stop and I have to keep pushing.  I think that’s what is destined for me for now.

NAPADSPress: What is the support from the Parents?

PrinceFinger: They tried a lot it my time to pay them back with the little am earning, they are my backbone and even when there is no one else. I run to them, what I am today is still because of their word and support.

NAPADSPress: What’s your foresight on expanding beyond the present height?

PrinceFinger:  Learning more and getting funds to make a solid ground,  I still have to go learn more because Learning never ends.

NAPADSPress: What’s your advice for students who are interested in a job or any kind?

PrinceFinger: Nothing good comes easy, you just have to keep moving either crawling, walking, running and don’t stop.

NAPADSPress: What’s your advice to students who are not appreciating entrepreneurship in this current economic situation?

PrinceFinger: well I think they should try their very best to find something to do, the best thing is to empower ur hand, that way you have the hope of making it whenever and wherever in this world of humans 👌...
