POSDCORB; an important tool in the hand of the management

Irrespective of the type of organization, be it formal or an informal organization there is always these iota of POSDCORB in it. Planning and staffing is not excluded, despite the level of informality, informal organizational also plan, at least that reveal the essence of being referred to as an organization because of the set goals they must achieve, likewise staffing is inevitable because they also need to recruit two or more people to carry certain task in achieving their objectives. And that is exactly what Gullick (1937), meant in his word as he defined administration to mean when two or more people rolled a stone that either of them would have rolled.
For the effectiveness of an administration in any organization there must be proper management of human and material resources, of which human is purposely saddled with harnessing the concerned material resources in achieving productivity for the organization. On the note by which one needs to understand that to achieve the organizational objective, the employees must as well be well managed. As a result of which there are varieties of theories of administration and management, meanwhile most these theories (as we learned from an expert on the field of study, Dr. (Mrs) R.A. Akinseye) is centered on the management of humans, with which they (employees) would achieve productivity which is the target of every establishment.
The body of people managing humans (employees) in an organizational context is referred to as the management. The fact that human must be properly utilized warrants some functions to be carried out by this so called management, (irrespective of the ideology of whether humans are naturally lazy and needs to be forced to work (Taylorism), or that human will always work in any sociable environment without force (human relations theory by Elton Mayor). These functions are presumably summarized in the acronym POSDCORB.
Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, recording and budgeting are substantial functions to be carried out by every formidable management in an organization.
As an administrator, it is an indisputable fact that our discipline grooms us to be a creditable public manager, hence, the need to employ POSDCORB in the process of setting up an organization, or working in an organization so as to achieve effective and efficient management scheme.
