Aluko Shahudah Folashade brought home the Gold price

In a highly anticipated event, the winner of the annual "Asiwaju Inter Faculty Speech Contest" has been announced. After several rounds of intense competition, the judges declared the representatives of Faculty of Business and Communication Studies as the winner of the contest. 

Faculty of Business and Communication Studies was gracefully represented at the Inter Faculty Speech contest by Aluko Shahudah Folashade, a Public Administration Department student, and Akintunde Elijah Olanrewaju, a student of Mass Communication Department. 

Aluko Shahudah Folashade, a student of Public Administration along with her partner, wowed the judges with their captivating speech on the topic 'Importance of the new currency; the glamour and gaps'. Shahudah's speech was praised for its eloquence, persuasiveness, and originality. The judges noted that Shahudah's delivery was flawless, and her use of rhetorical devices was exceptional.

The other contestants put up a good fight, with some delivering powerful speeches on a range of subject matter on the topic of the day. However, in the end, it was Shahudah's and her partner speech that stood out.



The speech contest has been a long-standing tradition of JCIN The Polytechnic Ibadan in the institution, attracting participants from all faculties in the institution. It provides a platform for individuals to showcase their public speaking skills and share their perspectives on important issues. This year's contest was no exception, with a diverse group of contestants bringing their unique perspectives and experiences to the stage.

The judges expressed their admiration for all the contestants, stating that each of them had made a valuable contribution to the contest. However, they noted that Faculty of Business and Communication Studies representatives speech was the most compelling and deserving of the top prize.

Aluko Shahudah Folashade was thrilled to be named the winner of the contest, stating that she never planned to contest. 

"Actually I never had it mind to contest for this competition because it is not my thing. But I was called to judge the people that would represent [the faculty], and after the judgement, the people there asked me to represent the faculty [at the speech contest]. I didn't agree in the first place but when my friends later called me that I can do this, I accepted what they told me and I took up the challenge", she said.

She thanked her friends for making her to do this. She as well dedicated her victory to them for their inspirational words and encouragement.

The speech contest has once again proven to be a showcase for the power of public speaking and the importance of sharing our ideas and perspectives. Congratulations to Aluko Shahudah Folashade, Akintunde Elijah Olanrewaju and all the contestants for their outstanding contributions to this year's event.
