TEAM OF THREE LED BY MR. WAHAB, MRS OKE SHINES AT AIPAS 5.0 SUMMIT

In a display of intellectual prowess and strategic insight, the Department of Public Administration at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, distinguished itself at the recently concluded Annual Ife Public Administration Summit (AIPAS 5.0) held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024. The summit, organized by the Department of Public Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, under the theme "From Policy to Prosperity: Public Administration Strategies for Harnessing Economy Growth in Nigeria," attracted participants from various institutions across the country.

Led by Mr. Yusuf Bolaji Wahab and Mrs. Olayinka Oke, the delegation from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, comprising Mufutau Ridwan Akinkunmi, NAPADS President, alongside other members of the department graced the summit. 

Upon arrival at Obafemi Awolowo University, the team was warmly welcomed by Prof. Taiwo A. Olaiya, the Head of the host institution's Public Administration Department. Their engagement began with insightful discussions and exchanges of ideas, setting the tone for a fruitful summit.

The workshop session witnessed dynamic presentations from representatives of all participating institutions, with The Polytechnic, Ibadan, standing out for their well-researched submissions on strategies for economic growth through public administration. The three representatives of the department, Akinade Ridwan B., Mafe Temitope Sunday, and Adeniji Sodiq Ademola, showcased their expertise and knowledge on the theme during the summit much to the satisfaction of the audience.


Certificates of participation were awarded to all institutions, with special recognition given to The Polytechnic, Ibadan, for their consistent presence and valuable contributions to the summit over the years.

Dignitaries such as Engr. Benjamin Kayode A., the guest of honor, and Temidayo Musa, the Keynote Speaker, also provided invaluable insights into policy implementation and economic development, drawing from both local and global perspectives. Orire Agbaje, a member of the Presidential Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy, also joined virtually, highlighting the role of fiscal policies in enhancing Nigeria's economy.


Returning to Ibadan, the delegates were warmly received by Dr. Oyekunle Oyewo, Head of the Department of Public Administration at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, who commended their exemplary performance and encouraged them to leverage the lessons learnt at the summit as a springboard for future endeavors.

The success of Public Administration Department, The Polytechnic, Ibadan's delegation underscores the department's commitment to academic excellence and its significant role in shaping discussions and policies in the field of public administration within Nigeria.
