  By: Napads Press

In a decisive match of the FBCS Dean's Cup, the Department of Public Administration triumphed over the Department of Music Technology with a commanding 3-0 victory on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 in an intriguing match played at the Main Pitch, North Campus of the institution.

The first half ended in a goalless stalemate, continuing the pattern of the Public Administration team, which had previously drawn 0-0 in its matches against the Business Administration and Marketing departments despite their dominating play.

The deadlock was broken just after the hour mark when team captain Ajadi Sherif Adewale skillfully netted a free kick. This breakthrough was soon followed by Babatunde Waheed Olawale, who scored the second goal with a precise header from another free kick. Agboola Samad sealed the win with a spectacular long-range shot towards the end of the match, securing Public Administration's place in the quarter-finals with five points.

Throughout the game, Public Administration showcased their dominance, creating multiple scoring opportunities. Their victory brought joy to their supporters, who had been steadfast in their encouragement since the start of the competition.

The NAPADS Sports Director, Com. Makinde Victor Elijah expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance and their progression to the next stage. "I feel very good, I’m happy for the players and I’m happy the team is in a good shape. Above all, we are all happy for putting a smile on the faces of the fans," he said. Despite initial struggles to convert their dominance into goals, Com. Makinde Victor Elijah celebrated the team's breakthrough win, emphasizing the collective effort and strategic play that kept their defense unbreached throughout the competition.

Highlighting the team's solid defense, Com. Makinde Victor Elijah stated, "The secret is we play together as a team. The dynamic which the coach has been playing leaves no room for lapses. The training sessions have been intense, focusing on all positions, and that has been reflected during the matches."

Looking ahead, he added, "We want to be the team that makes it to the finals and give it our all. We play with heart, hustle, and teamwork, and see where it takes us. The competition has been very intense; other teams want to win, but at the end, there is only one winner, and we want that for ourselves."

Team captain Ajadi Sherif Adewale shared his excitement post-match, thanking Almighty Allah for the successful outcome. Reflecting on the team's earlier struggles to score, Ajadi Sherif Adewale remained confident in their abilities. "Nothing scares us about the game for real, but we just believe it’s football and anything can happen. We only work hard on our scoring ability and let the mighty God do the rest."

Confident in their potential to win the tournament, Ajadi Sherif Adewale affirmed, "I can see us winning the tournament. Nothing scares us about the group stage. I understand we face some challenges, but we are good to go."

With this victory, the Public Administration Department now awaits the outcome of other group matches to determine their next opponent in the knockout stages of the FBCS Dean's Cup.

Working with the coaching crew closely.
