POLY'BADAN PUBLIC ADMIN TEAM STORMS ERUWA, HAILS RECTOR ADEDOKUN AS REFORMER, ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP BOOST

Lecturers of Public Administration from The Polytechnic Ibadan visited Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, hailing Rector Jonathan Olusegun Adedokun as a reformer and team leader, as a scholarship initiative for top students emerged as a key highlight.




The courtesy visit was led by the Head of Department, Dr. O.O. Oyewo, and included Dr. A.B. Akinola, Dr. O.J. Diekola, Dr. T.O. Adeyeye, Mr. A.A. Akeem, Mrs. O.A. Oke, Mr. F.A. Giwa, Mrs. D.G. Olaoye, Mr. Wahab Yusuf, and the departmental president, Comrade Adedeji Aluko, among others.

The visit, held at the Eruwa campus, was aimed at strengthening academic ties and formally congratulating Prof. Adedokun on his appointment as the substantive Rector of the institution.



Prof. Adedokun, who previously served in the Department of Public Administration at The Polytechnic Ibadan before moving to the Federal University Oye Ekiti, was praised for his outstanding contributions to academic development and institutional growth.

Speaking during the engagement, Dr. Oyewo described the Rector as “a reformer and team leader,” noting that his tenure at The Polytechnic Ibadan left a legacy of excellence, discipline, and mentorship. He added that the department remains proud of his achievements and leadership trajectory.

Other members of the delegation also commended the Rector’s passion for academic excellence and his commitment to nurturing future leaders in public administration.

The team further offered prayers for the continued success of the Rector, management, staff, and students of the institution, while reaffirming their readiness to sustain a mutually beneficial relationship between both polytechnics.

In his response, Prof. Adedokun expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a strong show of solidarity and professional respect. He encouraged the delegation to see Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic as an extension of their academic family, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving institutional progress.



As part of his commitment to rewarding excellence, the Rector announced a scholarship award for the best graduating students in the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) categories in the Public Administration Departments of both institutions.

In her closing remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Akintunde Funmilayo Bosede, thanked the delegation on behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff, and students, noting that the visit reflects a shared commitment to advancing academic standards and institutional development.

The visit underscores growing collaboration among tertiary institutions in Oyo State, with stakeholders expressing optimism about sustained partnerships and academic exchange
