ASSU strike; its impact on the Nigerian students

               The Academic Staff Union of University [ASUU] initially embarked on this strike on 14th of February, 2022, asking the government to sign the agreement it entered with the union in 2009. As at July 19, 2022 the Minister for Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu, took over the negotiations and also gave assurance that all universities on strike will resume as soon as possible but It was reported that on August 16, 2022, ASUU and the Federal Government re-negotiated their outstanding issues. ASUU President Professor Emmanuel Osodeke stated after the meeting that schools will reopen soon, but a couple of days later he reported the federal government failed to sign the agreement they reached.           Moreover, the federal government introduced the rule  'No work no pay' and ASUU in reaction, extended its strike indefinitely on 29th of August, 2022  and it so sad that the strike is still on till date.
